Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox pops up an error when you try to subscribe to a feed hosted on the Odeo podcasting site. Some example feeds that cause the error are:
http://odeo.com/channel/126064/rss
http://odeo.com/channel/3000/rss

The error message says:
Error in podcast
There was a problem adding this podcast. Please verify the URL: http://odeo.com/channel/126064/rss

The relevant output from 'rhythmbox -d' seems to be:
[0x8123890] [rb_shell_show_popup_cb] rb-shell.c:2635 (12:53:23): popup
[0x8123890] [rb_shell_cmd_new_podcast] rb-shell.c:2244 (12:53:26): Got new podcast command
[0x866edd8] [rb_podcast_parse_load_feed] rb-podcast-parse.c:440 (12:53:33): Invalid mime-type in podcast feed text/html

The feed validator at http://feedvalidator.org/ says that these feeds are valid and they load fine in amaroK.

This is Rhythmbox 0.9.3.1 in Dapper.

Thanks for your bug. On edgy rhythmbox open a dialog saying the type is not correct with a button to use it anyway if you want which works fine. Marking as fixed. A dapper backport for that is not really likely, that's the first bug we get about it and it seems to be specific to that podcast

Changed in rhythmbox:

status: Unconfirmed → Fix Released
