Binary package hint: xserver-xorg
I have a pair of PCI-E 7600GT cards, the live cd fails to detect them as using the "nv" driver [which works if i put it in manually and start a second X server] and sues "vesa" instead which is terribly slow.

This should be fixed in 7.10. Reopen if you can reproduce it with 7.10 or newer.
