Bug Description

I just looked at Evolution (considering starting to using it) and found out that the time zone was incorrectly set. I'm not living in Africa/Algeria, I'm living in Stockholm/Sweden. I haven't tampered with any options before (just selected Stockholm/Sweden in the installation).

I was using the release candidate btw.

This is just a minor bug but if it's not to difficult then I think it should be ironed out before Edgy Eft goes final.

Isn't the timezone chosen within the evolution druid when you first start it?

that's what the bug is about, that druid page used to select the location according to the system timezone

That druid page should be skipped entirely! In a brand new installation of ubuntu, it does not make sense to ask an user his timezone again, right after he clicks on the e-mail icon to test the new system.

Could one of you please update this bug to reflect Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn)? Thanks for keeping the bug reports up to date.

Duncan, what do you mean? If a bug is still open that means it's not fixed yet and it happens with the current version of Ubuntu

Sebastian: But how do we readers know if anyone has actually checked that the bug is still present? According to me (Evolution 2.11.6.1) this bug has gone, but some others should also check.

Sebastien: in hardy if I recall correctly evolution shows the timezone screen in its startup wizard. This should be just removed shouldn't it?

I can't reproduce this issue in either 8.04 or 8.10 alpha.

I just upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid and then run the wizard in Evolution. It suggested that I lived in Algeria or something :/, I also checked my /etc/timezone file and found out that I was living in Europe/Stockholm after all ;).

I think the best solution to this bug would be to replace the timezone selection dialog of evolution with the system timezone that all other programs use by default. Therefore I mark

a duplicate of this one.

Already removed or didn't I add it? However the other bug seems fixed now so is this fixed too according to others?
