samba share refuses to authenticate login attempt

Bug Description

Binary package hint: samba

After installing samba and adding a share, when trying to access that share with a client, login credentials are refused. I enter the username and password, and hit enter and the same screen shows right back up. No error message or anything to tell me what is actually wrong.
