xmms hangs when playing more than one midi file

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xmms

I am testing Edgy. I tried starting xmms in a terminal but no error messages are being displayed. Xmms will play the first file fine but will freeze when trying to open the second on the playlist or when I manually select the second file

I am confirming the problem. Xmms freezes on the desktop after playing a midi file.
It can be only minimized to the panel and it won't play anything else again.

I just did a fresh install of xmms on Gutsy (Kubuntu) and it doesn't play .mid files at all. I then installed xmms-midi and the .mid files play, but I get no sound out of them. I played a .mp3 and that worked fine. Went back and forth a few times between the .mid and the .mp3 and eventually the app froze, and I had to kill it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately xmms was removed since Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" because it was unmaintained. So we will not fix your bug. You can use audacious instead. It is an fork of xmms and is actively developed.
