Reovable media gets mounted halfway through format

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gparted

When I format of partition a removable drive in gparted, it gets mounted halfway through the format and the filesystem becomes corrupted. My workaround is to disable automatic mounting of removable media before the format, and enable it again afterwards.
Surely gparted should do this itself when it formats a drive?

This is in feisty, but it also affected me in edgy and (I think but can't quite remember) Dapper.

Thanks for your bug report regarding gparted. What type of removable drive were you using? What version of Feisty did you notice this with?
