Bug Description

I have often found times where I have sent out an email and then have thought of extra information that I would like to append to the original email. So I go to my sent items click on forward and copy in the people from the text that was added when I clicked on forward, add my detail and send again. I propose a button to go along with forward and reply called 'append' which does all mentioned earlier at once. Why is their a reply button with sent mails? This serves no purpose and so the toolbar should be contextually aware and replace reply with 'append'.

Seeing as you filed an upstream report, I am going to close the Ubuntu report as this is a wishlist item and something that would have to be implemented by the kdepim developers. I like the idea of the feature as well.

I'm not going to hold my breath for this one as Kmail has much more
fundemental problems to solve that this (like when one forward a html message
and it breaks the html style view severly). Thanks for the attention anyhow
but I thought that this was the correct procedure log it in launchpad then
attach the upstream report to that but I guess it is superfluous really.

You did right, but since you reported it upstream as well, it is going to get
fixed there and not in Kubuntu. As soon as they get it fixed there (if they
do) and release a new KDE release with that fix in it, then it would get into
Kubuntu as well. Thanks for the quick response.
