Just failed to update.
Dont know previous version, hope additional info can be found in report.

Please run in a terminal
sudo apt-get clean
and run again update manager

Still have the same problem, other packages update OK.

Hi Alex,

the uploaded dpkgterminallog.txt showed a lot of errors which I suspect Fabio's advice should have cleared up, but didn't show why mysql failed to start.

Your dmesg also shows a kernel BUG when firefox tried to execute some program. That is probably unrelated - unless it is indicative of a *sucessfull* attack.

Could you please attach your (fresh) dmesg and the result of 'grep mysql /var/log/syslog'? Please make sure to look through and sanatize any passwords first.

Sorry about some delay.

Actually, the computer itself is gone now due to some hardware failures, so i don't have access to logs. And also i cant reproduce "bug" on my current PC.

I think it is reasonable to consider this case closed. Also, i think, true reason was kind of hardware problem or something like that.
