I tried, but I got this:

pwa@Asus-laptop:~$ apport-collect 713880
The authorization page:

should be opening in your browser. After you have authorized
this program to access Launchpad on your behalf you should come
back here and press <Enter> to finish the authentication process.
Error connecting to Launchpad: [Errno 4] Interrupted system call
You can reset the credentials by removing the file "/home/pwa/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials"

I went into the browser and followed the procedure as well as I could and approved the authorization, but it instructed me to return to the original request, which I couldn't identify. The cache file doesn't exist. I don't know what's visible on your end.

I tried "apport-collect -p gnome-control-center 713880" as requested, but got a whole bunch of errors. I tried to post the transcript here, but for some mysterious reason the post was rejected, so I sent it to Fabio personally as a last resort.

Unless there's something odd about my system, it should be possible to verify this bug without any further help from me. Just turn off the touchpad, reboot, and look at the touchpad settings again. So I don't understand why the status is still incomplete.

The problem is worse than I originally realized. The touchpad disablement is lost when I exit the Input Devices section of System Settings, not just when I reboot. So in effect there's no way to disable the touchpad ever, even though there's a provision for it.

What can I do to remove the "Incomplete" from this bug's status? It's trivially easy to verify it.
