Bug Description

Start firefox. Enter www.ctv.ca in url address field, then enter.

Firefox crashes with no message.

Crash is repeatable at time of writing. (Could be dependent on contents of page, which will change routinely.)

Crash did not occur before upgrading to Edgy today.

Could not see anything relevant in Error Console.

Thanks for following up, Sam.

I have
- Goggle notebook 1.0.0.10
- Goggle toolbar for Firefox 2.1.20060807L

default theme

English (GB) language pack

I also had Adobe flashplayer 7 installed. I suspected this may be the
cause (since fairly "plain" websites load ok) so I tried reinstalling
flashplayer, but still got the crash. I then tried uninstalling
flashplayer (which is the case now) using the instructions on the
flashplayer readme.txt, but still get the crash. So it doesn't appear
to be flashplayer.

I also tried turning off (disabling via Firefox preferences) javascript
and java, but still get the crash.

Unfortunately firefox just vanishes from my screen when I try calling up
the website, so I don't get any obvious hints at what the problem may be.

Thanks.

Thanks for your report.

I am unable to reproduce this, the page loads fine for me. If the problem persists:

Could you please install firefox-dbg (these are the firefox debugging symbols) and try to obtain a backtrace (or crash report) by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs
This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

After installing a clean version of 6.10 and applying latest updates, the problem no longer seems to exist. Perhaps the problem was due to the fact I had performed an upgrade to the OS rather than a clean install. In any event I am now able to browse the website without problems.

Sorry for the apparent false alarm, and thanks for the help.
