Bug Description

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10

Architecture is amd64

chromium crashes at startup. Running in debugger it appears to be happening in icedtea. Removing icedtea (and using sun-java6 instead) and the problem goes away. Attached gdb trace of the crash.

hmm, do you also have the moonlight plugin installed? if so, it's a dupe which should be fixed already.

Could you please attach the apport crash file to this bug? we need a properly retraced and the additional info apport collects.
You should be able to do it with apport-collect.

The fix has been in -proposed for some weeks already, but it needs someone to test it before it can be published to -updates, and so far nobody experiencing this has stepped up to do that (see bug 538796)
