Bug Description
Using beagle 0.2.9-1ubuntu3 on Ubuntu 6.10 amd64.
All available gstreamer plugins are installed and the videos are thumbnailed and play in totem correctly.
I'd include more information about the codecs but it seems to happen for every single video file I have.

I would bet that you don't currently have mplayer installed, mplayer and totem pass the ball back and forth to extract as much information as possible.
