jonssoni-, thank you for participating to bug work, your problem looks like a totally different one from the one you comment on though, better to open a new bug if you are not sure of what you are doing to avoid confusion

Edgy and gaim are not supported anymore. Please open a new bug if you get a crash with pidgin in a later version of Ubuntu.
