http_proxy variable export

Bug Description

When the http_proxy variable is exported to the system, the syntax is incorrect,
the "@" is displaced to the ":" user-password separator.

So now is : "http://user@password:proxy_server:port" and it should be
"http://user:passwor@proxy:port".

Thanks.

Thank you for your bug. It has the correct format on my feisty desktop. What version of Ubuntu do you use? How do you print the value for http_proxy?

I'm using an edgy migrated to feisty, just changing the distribution name in the apt/sources.

After that I could update my system.

I check for the variable doing an "export" command on the shell...

marking as unconfirmed, it works fine for me, maybe somebody else has the same problem than you and can confirm it then

This works as excepted for me too, unconfirmed.
Perhaps a locale problem, try running the following command:
$ LANG=C gnome-network-preferences

Maybe it's my installation, 6.06 -> upgrated to 6.10 -> upgrated to 7.04... so I'll close it. Rejected.

upgrades should not change the behaviour of the code, there is probably a bug somewhere, should be debugged by somebody having the problem though
