Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Unity launcher do not display icon of Libroffice Write. Unity-palce do display this icon, so i assume it is not really writer problem. Other Libroffice apps do not have such problem.

Have you tried this with unity 3.6.8? I can't reproduce your problem here with unity 3.6.8. I get the correct icon-image on the launcher for LibreOffice Write. See attached screenshot.

Hmmm... currently i can reproduce it only on one of my setups (64-bit
nutty). Any ideas where can be the difference.

I confirm this issue. Instead of the writer icon it displays "libreoffice-javafilter" icon which doesn't have an icon (see tooltip in the screenshot)

No. but now it has other issue. If you have not writer on launcher, then open writer, choice "keep this app in launcher", close it. Then after new start of Writer, you will get two icons of writer. One blinking, the other is actual program.
