Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

This is something I've experienced with Compiz in the past, but this happens reliably with Unity.

Restart is the only option unless you have an open, focused Nautilus window and restart Unity manually with /usr/bin/unity or /usr/bin/compiz.

I'll attach a photo the next it happens.

I cannot reproduce this on two different machines as I kill X with Alt+SysRq+K much commonly.

i'm wondering if this is specific to that intel chipset. this could be a driver/hardware bug. i can't reproduce this on my macbook pro (nvidia 320m). eric, do you have another computer you can test on? omer, what chipsets do yours have?

The behavior I've been seeing in recent days is funky colors and then an X reset a few seconds later.
