Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Natty AMD64 Beta 1 image

Steps:
1. Install natty amd64 beta 1 image
2. Login as user
3. gnome-panel either fails to load or displays applet errors (non-deterministic as to which occurs)

This warning is found in the xessions-error file

is that a real hardware installation or a vm one? when you say it fails to load, does altf2 works?

Yes, I encountered this with Virtual Box. I did not alt f2, I ran alt-ctrl f1 and copied the xsession-error file on the first boot attempt.

I'm not sure if this is a duplicate of 716714, but they do appear similar.

I receive same error on ASUS N53JF using 11.04 AMD64, clean install. The panel at top right corner no longer loads.

That error occurs when choosing ubuntu classic at login. Problem doesn't seem to appear if Unity GUI loaded.

At first glance doesn't appear to be related to bug #716714.

In hopes of a correction I updated to proposed kernel 2.6.38-9 with accompanying gnome and x updates on May 29. Error remains.

I uninstalled Ubuntu-desktop in tty and reinstalled without any success in error correction.

If you'd like, let me know which bug reports would be helpful, and i'll post.
