Bug Description

Monitor preferences app causes the side bar to hide when opened, because of the small box on the top left corner. Maybe the small box should be moved somewhere else ? Do we need that small box ?

Gnome-display-properties should display the box a few centimeters offset from the left corner so that the Unity launcher doesn't hide. Not a bug in Unity. Closing Unity bug task.

Confirmed, let's see what the design team suggest doing from that label, should it be shifted to be at the corner of the unity-panel and launcher? What if the launcher is hidden? Having code to query the Unity launcher state is probably work over what it's worth there...

While I still think the top left box is a poor design, at least on current unity it no longer causes the launcher to hide. The box is offset to the right of the launcher now.
