Bug Description

Binary package hint: kicker

Hi!
I had the chance to try out the kickoff start menu on edgy[1] and I am really excited. It is the first intuitive start menu which I use for more than logging out. It would perfectly fit into the Kubuntu desktop.
Currently it requires a patched version of kicker which lives in a different branch[2] but the code steams stable and will probably be maintained by some SuSE people.

Thanks for your comment. The changes you are requesting require more discussion and should rather be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum.

http://www.ubuntu.com/community/forums/ might be a good start.

This is implemented in Feisty by the kicker-kickoff package. Let us know what you think.

Oops, I just realized I was using a non-official package (one that isn't in Feisty). Sorry to get your hopes up. Can someone mark as WL again?

Hi,

Kickoff is a hudge change, since it requires rebuilding kdebase from another branch.
Too late and critical for feisty at that develompment state, that should require a spec for implementation.
By the way, feisty+1 should have kde4, so let's say kubuntu will never have kickoff ;)

On the other hand, lots of people seem not to appreciate it too much...
