Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-impress

Using the master layout in impress to change background of some slides of a presentation is near impossible because of multiple problems.

Here is what I am doing:

 - go into view-> master -> slide master
 - I create a new master in the left panel (slide panel). If I change its color, its also changes, sometimes, the background of other slide masters. When it is changing is totally random, I didn't see any pattern.

The other problem is that once could create several master slides with the different background colors, I try to apply them to some slides, eg in the slide shorter section. At first, all the master slides appear in the right panel, in used in this presentation panel. Once I start to use them, they start to disappear (at that point, they also disappear if I go back to the master view).

I don't use much office like softwares normally, so I may just not know how to use it correctly, but this problem is driving me nuts :)

I think this problem may have been resolved in Ubuntu 7.10 OpenOffice 2.3.0. Can you please try to see if you can reproduce your problem and let me know if it still happens for you? I couldn't reproduce the issue locally.

Thanks,

Chris Cheney
