Subject: libesd0: 0.2.34-1 is broken

Package: libesd0
Version: 0.2.34-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The 0.2.29-1 package currently in testing is the last working version.

Meanwhile, 0.2.29-2 and 0.2.34-1 are both severely broken: one plays on fast-forward, while the other one stutters.

My experiance is that debian pakcage 0.2.34-1 stutters.I think
this is a problem with the debian diffs.

I had previosly compiled the up stream 0.2.34 as a quick and dirty
debain package (as per my report to bug 203913) and that did not stutter.
so I think the problem is with ther debian patches...

Not very helpful but there you go!

I have reproduced this problem. It occurs when the esd library is
upgraded from 0.2.29-1 to 0.2.34-1. (In my case it was libesd-alsa0.)

That is correct. 0.2.29-2 and 0.2.34-1 are both broken.
