From this thread : http://www.ubuntuforums.com/showthread.php?t=319492 on ubuntuforums, I think we should consider a backporting of libgphoto.

This would allow a lot of newer cameras to be supported. e.g. Canon EOS 400D which was a popular gift this christmas....
