I have just upgraded to Nutty from Maverick (64bit). I also now experience problems with the windows in QtOctave. It just worked perfectly under Maverick. Any progress on this bug?

Further to my previous comment: Although I only experience problems with QtOctave where it seems that the windows (in Octave) are not refreshed properly, I also observe that my desktop is not always refreshed properly. Anybody else experiencing problems? At the moment I cannot use QtOctave at all. I have installed the latest version 0.10.1

Regarding the menu issue:

Create a File

~/.local/share/applications/qtoctave.desktop

with the content

[Desktop Entry]
Categories=Development;Math;Science;Education;
Comment=Graphical Qt frontend for GNU Octave
Exec=env QT_X11_NO_NATIVE_MENUBAR=1 qtoctave
Icon=qtoctave
Name=QtOctave
TryExec=qtoctave
Type=Application
Version=1.0

Regarding the refresh Issue I guess its another Bug. At least I have no such problems so far. Maybe you should open a new Bug Report and describe your problem in detail there.

Thanks Sebastian, unfortunately my problem has not beens solved yet.

This is what happens: Say I want to add a line in my text (.m file) then the following will happen:

enter: to create an empty line (actually could just as well type something)
enter: for next line and type something; one character will show and rest just invisible

After this it does not help one is typing, nothing is shown, just one or two funny characters.

This is what I mean with refresh in QtOctave.

It happens of two of my PC, one with Gnome2 and the other with Unity, exactly the same behaviour; This started when I upgraded to Natty.

I just I'll post this before I open a new bug report.

Further to my comment #5 above

To shed further light on my problem, I add this from the Octave terminal:

warning: addpath: /opt/qtoctave/share/qtoctave/scripts_octave/: No such file
 or directory
>>>error: `_ide_reload_variables_list' undefined near line 4 column 1
