Bug Description
Binary package hint: gaim
At the moment, the gaim package depends on the sasl-modules package, but gaim is not linked against the cyrus sasl library. Attached patch fixes this.

Thank you for your bug. The package is not built with that option on purpose:
" gaim (1:2.0.0+beta5-4) unstable; urgency=medium
...
* Don't build with Cyrus-SASL, support is too unstable
(Closes: #400002, 401295)..."
The Depends bug has been fixed to Debian and to Ubuntu with the new sync with Debian
