Bug Description

Binary package hint: gedit

Well I'm not sure if this bug has been reported before, but now Gedit often will start and immediately start, sometimes justs hangs, and sometimes works perfectly. I haven't really found a pattern to when it works and doesn't. It's become a real hassle. If anyone has any ideas of why this is happening, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use. When it just hang, could you get a backtrace as described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace?

I use Ubuntu 6.10, I recently upgraded from 6.06. The upgrade seemed to go well, I don't recall any errors. It's hard to get a backtrace, because it doesn't appear regularly. I haven't had the problem yet today, but I did have it numerous times yesterday. If I have the problem again, I'll make sure to get one though. Thanks for responding so quickly.
