Bug Description

On my client machine, Nautilus indicates that my Ubuntu One folder contains 7.9MB of files. This is the only folder synced with my Ubuntu One cloud.

The Ubuntu One Web interface and local control panel insist that I am using 67.4MB of storage space. I am not sure how to account for this significant difference

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. Sorry Ubuntu One is not working as expected. What version of Ubuntu One are you using? You can get this by running the following command in a Terminal:

apt-cache policy ubuntuone-client

What do you get from this command:

u1sdtool --list-folders

Have you purchased any music from the Music Store?

thank you,
duanedesign

Here are responses to your three items:

1) Here is the output from the first command:

  Installed: 1.4.6-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1.4.6-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1.4.6-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1.4.4.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages

2) Here is the output from the second command:

Folder list:
  id=f018e74e-f869-4162-a3da-4954d6b28109 subscribed=True path=/home/bryan/.ubuntuone/Purchased from Ubuntu One

3) Here is an answer to your question:

Yes, I have purchased music from the Ubuntu One Music Store. I recently found two files in my cloud storage that had somehow re-downloaded. I downloaded those to my local machine and (again) deleted them from my cloud. I also checked my local "Purchased from Ubuntu One" folder (hidden in .ubuntuone), and it is now empty. New statistics:

Local data usage: 7.9 MB
Ubuntu One Cloud Storage reported usage: 46.3 MB

Hello Bryan,

I have issued a quota recalculation request to the database. Initially it was showing 38.7 MB used bytes and the quota indication did not change after quota recalculation.

Could you please perform the following actions:
1. Back up the contents of Ubuntu One folder
2. Run u1sdtool --rescan-from-scratch=""

"" is needed because --rescan-from-scratch requires a volume identifier which is empty for "Ubuntu One" folder.

This will cause the system to retrieve the info about files from the server and may initiate the download of server-only files locally.

Please inform us about the outcome of this procedure too.

Roman,

I backed up my files and initiated the command, as you requested. Server-only files did appear in my local Ubuntu One folder; however, these files were small. I initiated "delete" commands from the Ubuntu One Web interface, and these files/folders disappeared locally. Currently, the size of my local Ubuntu One folder is 257 KB. The Ubuntu One preference pane is showing a total usage of 38.7 MB.
