Bug Description

libwnck is updated in edgy-security, but libwnck-dev (which depends on it) is not. This causes libwnck-dev to be not installable:

jos@duet:compiz$ sudo apt-get install libwnck-dev

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libwnck-dev: Depends: libwnck18 (= 2.16.1-0ubuntu1) but 2.16.1-0ubuntu1.1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

The libwnck18 package version you are using is not an Ubuntu one, you probably installed it from some website shipping compiz packages or something like that. Marking the bug rejected, that's not a bug, you should use official packages for it

Changed in libwnck:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
