New window opens with a video player in it.
After a few seconds (presumable when the video starts to play?) Firefox receives a segfault.

Thank you for the bug report. Could you please install the firefox-dbg package and try to obtain a backtrace (or crash report) by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which firefox extensions do you have installed?
Are you running mplayer-plugin or totem?

Well crap. I can't reproduce the bug now. I had just un-installed the VLC plugin last night so I thought maybe that had fixed it, but I re-installed that and tried again and the video still plays without a crash now. I don't know what else might have changed since December when I was having this problem so I guess this is a dead horse. I did run Firefox with dbg but since there wasn't a crash I can't see where that would help anyone.

FWIW

libvlcplugin.so version 0.8.6 Janus - going to be uninstalled again...
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0_05
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31
Totem Web Browser Plugin 2.16.2
mplayerplug-in 3.31

I am not sure if having VLC, Totem AND Mplayer is a problem and I am not sure why I have them all installed.

Thanks and sorry I didn't get all the info for you back in December.

unfortunately your crash report does not contain enough information in order to process your bug properly. This is normal and not the reports fault. I f you ever manage to capture another crash report, please open a *new* bug. Thanks for your contribution,
