Orientation tag not removed

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager

gnome-volume-manager-gthumb rotates imported images by default (seems to be no way to stop that), but doesn't remove the orientation tag.
This causes at least two problems:
1. If I have a folder with unrotated images (import via cardreader) and rotated images (import via Gnome), they both have an orientation-header and I cannot rotate them automatically (e.g. with jhead).
2. And some image-viewers will rotate the image according to the orientation header, thus they're being "unrotated".
This is most annoying.

Anybody feeling responsible for this one? Is it an upstream bug?
It is definitly unexpected (if not simply false) behavior to rotate an image (without even asking) and not remove the orientation-tag.
This causes real problems.

This is fixed in gThumb 2.8.0 and later. If you have 2.7.x, please upgrade.

Furthermore, 2.9.x and later have a Tools > Reset Exif Orientation tool, to allow you to fix images that were corrupted by this bug.
