nvidia drivers produces unusable black window/dialogs in kubuntu

When I use nvidia graphics driver, I get unusable black windows wherein all the controls in window are rendered black thus making it unusable. This happens sporadically with any running application so there are no definitve steps to reproduce this.

This happens with an Nvidia GeForce 6100 card, however it does not happen on my NVidia GeForce 8400M GS card.

With Noveau drivers this does not happen. Till maverick nvidia drivers worked perfect.
