front microphone socket doesn't work with ICH5 sound

Bug Description

Whether I select mic 1 or mic 2 as the mic input in gamix, my ICH5 on board sound captures from the rear mic port and not the front one. I have an Asus P4P800-SE motherboard.

I am currently using edgy with the prepackaged kernel, but I also had this problem on a previous gentoo linux installation with a kernel based on the gentoo patched sources.

I can confirm this front mic issue with the P4P800-SE in Dapper and Edgy.

I should add that I was able to use the front mic socket when running Windows.
