Edgy: yellow is brown in consol/terminal (eg, printf)

Bug Description

Soz if this is a dupe, i didn't have much to search on.

ref for colour codes:

get ^[ by pressing ctrl+v then Esc

==steps to reproduce:

1.open gnome-terminal, konsol, or go to the alt+F1 thingy
2.type in either:

printf "^[[33m"

or

printf "^[[43m"

3.hit return

==expected result:

either the fore- or back-ground goes yellow

==actual result

fore/background goes brown

(enter printf "^[[0m" to get the default colours back)

if you want any more info, just ask.

The changes you are requesting require more discussion and should rather be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum.

This is not a bug. You can setup the colors in these terminal emulators. For instance in Gnome Terminal by choosing the "Colors" tab while editing the current profile.

By default the 3rd color is brown (counting from 0), this is set via ^[[33m / ^[[43m (that is really yellow in the reference you cited). If you want, change it to yellow (or whatever you want to).
