Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Tried installing DOM Inspector after Firefox 2 was already installed and Synaptic produced the following error:

"Could not mark all packages for installation or upgrade"
"firefox-dom-inspector:
Depends: firefox (<2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3.1~) but 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10 is to be installed"

Just tried this on an up to date Edgy system and got the same error, so yes, the issue is still present.

I cannot confirm this issue. Dom inspector gets properly pulled from universe in edgy. Closing.

That's weird...

What firefox/dom-inspector version you have installed, Alexander?

I have firefox 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10 installed here, but http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/edgy/universe/binary-i386/Packages.bz2 doesn't contain the matching firefox-dom-inspector (2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10); it only contains the 2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3 one, which conflicts with my installed firefox. If I manually download http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/f/firefox/firefox-dom-inspector_2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10_all.deb I can install it using dpkg, but apt won't fetch it for me.
