Monitor "Out of sync" with live cd

Bug Description

The live cd starts ok.
When it launches the desktop, the image disappears and my lcd monitor (1280x1024) displays a "Out of sync" error.
My video card : GeForce FX 5200, 128MB
AMD Athlon XP 2600+

Is this issue still occurring on Gutsy-final? If so, could you please attach the output of lspci -vvnn, sudo ddcprobe, and the /etc/X11/xorg.conf (and /var/log/Xorg.0.log if it exists.)

My GeForce FX 5200 died and I had to replace it by a GeForce FX 6200. Thus I will not be able to test if the bug is now corrected :-(
