Bug Description

Binary package hint: pmount

I inserted the SD card from my camera into the reader on our edgy box. I then copied all the pictures and deleted the originals on the card using nautilus. I tried to empty the trash, but gnome told me there was no trash. I removed the card, put some more photos on it and reinserted it in the computer. However the new photos are not there, according to both nautilus and midnight commander, but the trash full of all the supposedly deleted stuff still is there. However when I try to empty the trash I still get a message saying there is none.

I put the card back in the camera again and double-checked that the new images really were there, which they were.

When there is no card inserted, the contents of the usbdisk are still reported as described above and I can still perform operations on this phantom file system, such as deleting a directory and its contents.

To summarise, it looks as if the contents of the usbcard as reported to gnome, mc etc are frozen at a point _before_ the card was first removed, and nothing I do seems to put this right.
