Binary package hint: kde-guidance

The changelog says:

kde-guidance (0.7.1~svn20070111-0ubuntu3) feisty; urgency=low

  * Rebuild for python2.5 as the default python version.

Yet, kde-guidance-(powermanager) is only installable / does only run with python 2.4
The problems as I see, are:
- debian/pyversions contains 2.4 ( *not* 2.4- )
- debian/patches/12_force_python2.4_script.diff

Please update kde-guidance to run with python2.5

This one relates to pykdeextensions that cannot be even built as-is on feisty. I think we will need to wait for Sime to give us some hint for this.

With feisty when I try to install kde-guidance, I've got this message:

kde-guidance: Depends: python (< 2.5) but 2.5-0ubuntu3 should be installed

And if I can't install kde-guidance, I can't install the whole kubuntu-desktop.

This is a proposed quick'n dirty patch for making kde-guidance compile against python 2.5 (only).

Michael, pykdeextensions bug was actually cause by a bug in python 2.5, fixed by recent upload by Matthias:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty/+source/python2.5/2.5-5ubuntu3

Tonio has taken over kde-guidance and has prepared very similar solution as your proposed patch:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty/+source/kde-guidance/0.7.1~svn20070111-0ubuntu4
