vmware tools install fails

Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-386

Kubuntu fiesty 2 is installed in vmware server 1.01
after issuing "instal VM tools" command and nothing happens - kernel does not see new device

I'd just like to confirm this error in ubuntu feisty 2 as well (as opposed to the above, which is kubuntu) as of today, Jan. 31, with a fully updated feisty running inside a fully updated VMware server.

I read somewhere that vmware does not support the 2.6.20 kernel that Feisty uses, yet.

vmare only supports dapper.
no support for edgy or feisty kernel.

I'll confirm this bug as it seems to be one of many issues with ubuntu7.10 (and others) and VMWware.

This is not a bug in the linux-meta package, moving to the linux package.
