How did you even get to this point? Or are you using the sudo-trick?

I'm not sure what you mean Raif. Democracy works fine for me for a little
while, then for no apparent reason it stops working altogether. The only
thing that can get it up again is a fresh install of Ubuntu.

Can you try again with the latest package in the Feisty archives (0.9.2.1-2.1ubuntu2)? This version works for me.

I had upgraded to version 0.9.5.1 with via
deb http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/pculture.org/democracy/linux/repositories/ubuntu feisty/
a while ago, and it crashed. Original feisty version was not working before. Purging and installing 0.9.2.1 from feisty repository WORKS now!

In my PC, with Ubuntu 6.10, it starts up, but it closes immediately. How can I fix this problem? Thanks.

The fix that makes it launch is included with feisty. But they
sometimes backport fixes. Not all problems seemed to be solved though,
but at least it launches.

The democracyplayer people are working on a fix. From their blog:

Ubuntu Feisty has been released and Democracy Player isn’t totally compatible right now. But we are very close to release of Democracy Player 0.9.6 which will support Feisty. Sorry for the wait.

Since democracyplayer works for me in Feisty, and the Feisty version is working for at least two other people (as judged by the comments), I'm marking this as fixed.

If anyone disagrees that *this* bug is fixed in Feisty's democracyplayer, feel free to reopen with details.
