Looks like ALSA is working. It thinks it is playing the file. However, something somewhere is muted; I would guess.

It would seem that OSS also "works"; but the mixer is set up incorrectly.

Again, after discussion, changing IEC958 Playback AC97-SPSA doesn't help.

ETBen: Is this still a problem? If so, can you please try the latest herd release of feisty and see if it's still a bug? Thanks
