Bug Description

Binary package hint: rstatd

We ran across the bug reported in Debian:

  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=324551

on our Dapper i386 machines. Basically rstatd forks off way too many times and in our case caused resource allocation failures. It was not evident on our amd64 machines. I took the Debian patch and made new dapper packages and rstatd seems to work properly. I'll attach the patch fragment that fixes the problem.

Thanks. (I thought I checked thoroughly)

The above bug is marked "Fix Released" but it is fixed in feisty and not
dapper. Can the patch be applied to dapper as well?
