[Feisty] No sound

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-media

Booting into Feisty, I had no sound. I realised that the reason for this was that the 'headphones' were selected from the volume applet, and their volume was max while the system volume was zero. So the "fix" was simply to change the volumes. Of course, no headphones were plugged in.

Please let me know what information is needed to resolve this problem.

(This is of course likely not to be a volume applet bug)
