Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux

Virtual Box is an Open-Source virtualization product. In Linux, it require the help of a relatively small kernel module. This kernel module is licensed under the GPL. It would be useful to Virtual Box users if the module was included in the Ubuntu kernel by default, as it would spare them from having to compile it by hand.

The module source code is available online at http://www.virtualbox.org/download/1.3.2/vbox-kernel-module-src-1.3.2.tar.bz2

We haven't decided if this is going into the kernel proper yet. Needs Info means needs discussion.

This would be a good candidate for an out of tree module package... I'll see if I have time to whip one up.

I assume the module of 1.3.8 has been integrated? The bug initially referenced the 1.3.2 module.

If so, we will try to keep the module interface stable for some time so that even future releases of VirtualBox will be able to work with the Feisty module.
