Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Many e-mail clients automatically collect and complete "used" e-mail addresses. This functionality is provided in evolution by the autocontacts plugin, which is disabled by default in the preferences dialog. In my opinion, a new user should find this plugin enabled by default, perhaps with an ad-hoc addressbook instead of the default one.

Nice idea. Is it stable enough?

It needs evolution to be restarted after applying the setting, it seems, but then it seems to work fine. It should perhaps be extended to add autocollection of any "to:" address in a sent e-mail, but this is another story. There was the following bug

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/68642

but it seems that latest updates solved the problem.

I'm not convinced that people want to add random people to their adressbook only because they replied to one of their mails. Could you mail the <email address hidden> list to know what people think about that?
