Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

Hi,

I am using linux-image-2.6.20-5-generic 2.6.20-5.7 on kubuntu feisty.

When i was using 2.6.17 from edgy all was working right.

At boot, sound doest work, i can't get anything from my soundcard (snd-hda-intel on a lenovo 3000 N100)

In dmesg there is these two errors :
[ 29.720000] hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode...
[ 30.724000] hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to single_cmd mode...

But if i remove all the snd* modules (after i stopped kde because it uses the device) :
snd_hda_intel
snd_hda_codec
snd_pcm_oss
snd_mixer_oss
snd_pcm
snd_seq_dummy
snd_seq_oss
snd_seq_midi
snd_rawmidi
snd_seq_midi_event
snd_seq
snd_timer
snd_seq_device
snd
snd_page_alloc

and modprobe snd-hda-intel, i get the sound back !

If you need more informations, please tell me :)

Hi,

no, i disabled the modem since i dont use it and i was thinking that maybe it will save a _little_ battery :]

linux-image-2.6.20-6-generic just came out, i will try with the modem disabled and with it enabled.

My laptop uses snd-hda-intel, and also had no sound until I enabled the serial port in the BIOS. Now sound works.
