Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

In Feisty x86 gnome-screenshot crashes if I want to take a screenshot of a window, with
    gnome-screenshot -w

Full-screen gnome-screenshot works perfectly.
This only happens in openbox (not in metacity).

I got the following message, hope it can be helpful.

Running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat final release.

muriel@marvin:~$ gnome-screenshot -i
The program 'gnome-screenshot' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 2387 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Issue did not expire due to the bug watch.

Upstream report was closed 2012-01-26 "RESOLVED OBSOLETE" as
the issue had not been reproducible for some time.

With no reports here for over 12 years I'm closing this as
being fixed, probably many many years ago, see comment #4.

Changed in gnome-screenshot (Ubuntu):
status: Incomplete → Fix Released
