Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

Tried to build tracker from source in feisty, and after installing build-depends that the package needs, the build process fails:

[...]
checking for magic.h... no
configure: error: You must have magic.h and libmagic installed
make: *** [config.status] Error 1

I don't have libmagic-dev installed. However, I've been able to build tracker from source successfully.

Which version of tracker are you trying to build? Could you provide the terminal output?

Thanks
Pochu

we are refering to the latest 0.5.4 version which is not in feisty yet.

0.5.4 will not build without it (I am the author of it!)

Er, yes, I forgot that I was actually building tracker 0.5.4!

Is this bug still valid, or should it be reopened once 0.5.4 actually hits the repos?

I'm uploading 0.5.4 to the repositories, so this will be fixed with the upload.
