Bug Description

Binary package hint: synce-kde

Dear community,

I recently upgraded my kubuntu edgy to kde 3.5.6. Since then I experience problems with the raki program from the synce-kde package. I use this to synchronise my pocketpc with kontact. Unfortunately, since the upgrade it crashes during synchronisation, with the result that nothing is synchronised. Help!
I hope it's just a matter of recompiling it for 3.5.6 because it seems that raki is unmaintained... (http://sourceforge.net/projects/synce/ => last version is from 2005-07-08)

Cheers!

Martijn

Unfortunately, the debugsymbol repository, doesn't have synce packages. If I have any time later this week, I'll compile the package myself. Other ideas that do not involve compiling are welcome of course.

BTW I narrowed the problem down to synchronising 'Appointments', that is, the calendar. Tasks and contacts seem to sync ok.

cheers,

Martijn

Looks like synce-kde is not included in Feisty.

well, it seems that it can be solved by merely rebuilding it.

- i apt-get sourced synce-kde and syncekonnector
- did apt-get build-dep ...
- export DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="debug nostrip noopt"
- compiled (apt-get source -b ...)
- and installed (dpkg -i ...)
- and everything works like a breeze....

so please rebuild it!

This is not fixed.

I've reloaded and installed synce-kde from the repositories (and syncekonnector too, although that has nothing to suggest that it has been recompiled and updated).

RAKI still merrily crashes every time any sniff of a calendar sync comes its way.
Bug backtrace pasted below (interesting stuff probably at the bottom - scroll down - but all Greek to me), in case it helps.
Please help!

I completely agree with Eudemus. I'm running ubuntu feisty, with the 2.6.20-15-generic kernell and KDE 3.5.6.
Today i installed vdccm + synce-kde + raki + ksync in order to get my ipaq2220 synced with kontact (korganizer 3.5.6).
Connection works fine, i can browse my pda files from my computer, and can get info about battery status etc.

However, when i want to sync appointments and/or tasks it crashes when acquiring the data. Since i have many appointments i'll post below the terminal output from starting raki to crashing on tasks syncing (i've got 5 tasks atm). Below that i'll put my backtrace.

Maybe this extra info can help as well: i'm using Q.t 4.2.3 and have installed all above packages from the ubuntu repositories. That includes synce-kde 0.9.1-1ubuntu2 which is supposed to fix this bug. I hope someone can find a sollution to the problem. Concerning the suggestion of building it myself, if that still sticks, could anyone explain me how then?
