Bug Description
Binary package hint: acpi-support
Today HP laptops need to unload module psmouse before soft shutdown (ACPI S5) to start again properly. If someone wants to work around this, he/she will have to edit init scripts. That's bad (Slackware's ;-)) way. IMO much better way would be creating new variable in /etc/default/
# SHUTDOWN_
and change shutdown/reboot script so that it unloads such modules from kernel before shutting down/rebooting box automatically.

I think this is actually duplicate of bug 82681
I am currently preparing the feisty kernel with proposed patch to confirm the fix.
