Bug Description

When I want to burn a CD in nautilus, there are speeds very improbable: for example 4.7x and 11.7x for a CD-RW.

Of more other programs (Brasero, GnomeBaker) recognizes the engraver (while cdrecord scanbus sees it not) but as soon as I throw a carving error of the kind : the inserted cd is not inscriptible (tested with several CD).

A lot nobody are in the same case on the French forum. I made a chmod 666 on /dev/sg0 because before I had a problem of right above. Nothing changes it.

Pleasy excuse me for my english but I'm french. I hope to have been the most clear possible.

Thank you.

Hello Bertrand,

thanks for the bug report, but this isn't a malone bug.
I'm reassigning to the correct source package in ubuntu.

I have a question though, how did you end up filing this bug against malone instead of ubuntu? Did you follow a link?

Cheers.

Then it is ubuntu Edgy Eft 6.10.

Cdrecord: 2.01+01a03-5ubuntu2

Saddened for the bad investment, I made several things at the same moment I paid attention.

At present I am on feisty in test and I have the same problem. On the French forum some people say that my material is not compatible but I tested several cd recorder. I shall really like understanding this problem.

Wodim -scanbus returns no more error and nevertheless I can not burn always :

root@P4:/home/bertrand# wodim -scanbus
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'ATA ' 'MAXTOR STM380211' '3.AA' Disk
        0,1,0 1) *
        0,2,0 2) *
        0,3,0 3) *
        0,4,0 4) *
        0,5,0 5) *
        0,6,0 6) *
        0,7,0 7) *

But there is no my engraver in the list.

You are not using cdrecord but a defective fork.

The problems you describe do not exist in the original software.
Please upgrade to a reacent original:
