I think this might be related to bug 437783

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This might be an issue between resolvconf and bind9 and when they get configured OR it might be that something else in overwriting what resolvconf is trying todo.

Please could you try the following:

   cd /etc
   sudo ln -sf /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf

Please then try to update your system again.

Please update this bug report if this does not resolve your issue or mark as 'Invalid' if it does.

Marking importance as 'Low' for the time being pending response.
